The Eastern Yellow Wagtail or Motacilla tschutschensis is an amusing bird that one can never get enough of its wagging. It is forever. Arpha can’t seem to stop laughing as well and all of our chances of getting this bird captured in the camera many times ago were wasted because we can’t stop laughing until it has flown away somewhere.

This bird can be anywhere in Thailand and one who does not know much about birds can even ignore them and identify this as just a “bird.” The non-stop dipping of its bill in the muddy water is another amusement just like the rest of the Sandpipers. This bird can also stay and linger for awhile but it just keeps moving, then if frightened it will just fly away nearby and not too far so you can follow and take as many photographs as you can.
