white-fronted-scops-owl

It was very hard to suspect that there were three owls perched on a branch of a tree right next to a stream and a mountain slope. We were told that they were there and we tried to look for them with no avail. A bird guide quietly walked to where they were and showed us and we were in awe as we see them sleeping and occassionaly opening their eyes and stretching their feet.

To find an owl during the day is a beautiful experience since this predator is active during the night until the sunrise and then they find their regular hangout and wait for night to come again. We just stood under these three characters and enjoyed their loveliness as we took hundreds of photographs. I only had a Nikon D7000 and it was not a good camera for such lowlight situation though I was already using a tripod, it was difficult and it produced me different unwanted results.

These owls may also be difficult since they don’t really move a lot and when you have found them right behind a branch and leaves, then you just have to take the shots the way they are presented or else you come back the next day if you can.
