We were going out of Kaengkratchan National Park and on the right hand side before the park’s gate, there was a lake, and on the lake we found diffrent kinds of birds that made us decide to stop and postpone our plan to go out at exactly 4:00 o’ clock in the afternoon. It was a huge decision to make since we know that the traffic going hom from Petchaburi will be a horrible one.
We saw a Purple Heron, Little Grebes, Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters, Flycatchers, an Owl, a Nightjar, Swallows, and many more. While our interest focused on a family of Little Grebes diving into the water and appear somewhere, I noticed from where we were standing, right behind us, was this lovely Green-vine Snake. We were were our Crocs, shortpants, and we were not there for the snakes, were were already driving home and the outdoor clothes we wore are already kept in the soiled clothes bag.
If we open our eyes, we always see something different from what we want and look for. The Little Grebes were fantastic, it was the first time for us to see the female so we paid attention at them, and yet this snake took some of our time to observe it. So I took photographs of it and made the whole length of its body fit in the frame to have everything. I can’t also just zoom into the head, we don’t want to display a snake as a photgraph head only unless its body is kept in the grass or water or whatever.
