Breeding at the Russian tundras, the Heuglin’s Gull is a joy to find in Thailand every year. Wintering in Thailand is the best for the Seagulls, the Thais are waiting for them every year, literally feeding them with food that they usually eat. At Bangpu Recreation Center, there is enough natural food for them to have until they fly back to where ever they come from. Yet, the Thais enjoy them and at Bangpu Recreation Center’s wharf, people come during the weekends or even during the week days, they come and buy the feed provided by the center. It is one way that these gulls can recover from their long nonstop journey from cold regions of the planet. For them to be healthy and store fat, they can go back in Spring.

I am not an expert to any of the Gulls, I see them all just the same. White, red or yellow bills, some browns and blacks on the wings and feathers, I can’t tell which is which. I was very lucky to be there that day when Ayuwat Jearwattanakanok was there and he was on his target Gulls and he shared his found. Thanks to him!
