The Sakaerat Environmental Research Station is well known of its Siamese Fireback Pheasants to birds and snakes to Herpers. It is mainly a research station for snakes that’s why it is there. The amount of studies dedicated to snakes is just amazing since they even have volunteers from different parts of the world coming to Thailand and stay there at the station for a month or two. They also research about turtles and it is also a serious study so to speak. This lowland forest system is very healthy and conducive to different kinds of animals to live and reproduce, it is a perfect forest.

This forest is also home to different kinds of birds which people are not really talking about since most of the birds found there can be found in Kaeng Krachan National Park or Khao Yai National Park. Well the Siamese Firebacks is easy to find there that’s we why we take the time and never mind the trouble of driving that far.

The Red-breasted Parakeet is also a welcome find at this station. They are just there flying around just few hundred meters as you enter the park’s entrance. Everything is perfect for the Red-breasted Parakeets, they are well protected there.
