We had been wanting to have a Darter into our collection and we can’t just seem to find it; well, the Darter is a rare visitor to Thailand and it does not stay the whole year. There were Darter in Thailand before but they must have been killed and wiped out in what way, I don’t know. Thanks to the neighboring Southeast Asian countries, Darters from these countries come and visit Thailand. This country is still the best place for this bird to come during the migration season, the national parks are beautiful and are safe for the birds to come.

There must have been misgivings in the past regarding conservation, but today, Thailand’s efforts in bird conservation is paying off. Serious attention has been given and a lot of money already been spent just to bring back some other birds that has been dimmed extinct.

I have attempted to take photographs of this shy big bird and it always manages to fly away as it saw me, to be waiting in the hide can be boring and could take the whole day. So, a flyby is a welcome photo opportunity for me to capture this bird in the camera.
