Breeding in the Mediterranean and the north of the western Indian Ocean, the Slender-billed Gull winters in India or north Africa, and some of them make it to Thailand. It is really difficult to tell the difference if you are not keen to the little details which actually are the biggest difference. First the slender-bill and the pinkish breast, one has to pay careful attention when they are together with the other Gulls.

Again we were blessed by the presence of Ayuwat Jearwattanakanok who was there at the moment. He pointed out the Slender-Billed Gull and I personally thought that it was very impossible for me to find it. There were a few of them mixed with the rest, it took time to lock on them and as soon as I did, I got familiarized and I was able to find them on my own.
