We remembered deciding to go to Doi San Ju in Fang, Chiang Mai. That was a serious driving of twelve hours and then more driving as we get on top mountains and valleys. It was an ultimate test for me and my wife on how we manage to stay awake on the road, rest, drive again, and be on time according to plan.

Just for a Spot-breasted Parrotbill, we thought that the bird is really cute and it would be worth the trouble. The thing is, in Chiang Mai, there are a lot of great wintering birds and as we were there, it was just excitement after excitement. After the Mrs. Humes, Great Tit, and the rest; we focused on finding the Parrotbill. As we got to the location, we heard the call right away and all we did was call back. As we were calling back, the famous Peter Ericsson arrived with his company and he started calling the bird just like us.

Well, we continued calling and allowed the expert to do his magic and after few seconds the bird showed up very near us. We all enjoyed this bird, the vocalization of this bird is an annoying cry and scream at the same time, but it was rather a comical call. The bird kept the scream going, it entertained us.

A species of bird in the Sylviidae family. It is found in Bangladesh, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand. Doi San Ju habitat is just perfect for this bird to thrive and wait to entertain visitors.
