Breeding in Europe, Africa, southern Asia, and northern Australia; is a grassland bird making short sharp chirps, very distinct and easy to remember. During the non-breeding season, the Zitting Cisticola hides within thick grass. Though this its status is a Least Concern bird, as common as it is, I feel that this bird to me is a “lifer” of its own.

It is really an amusing bird to observe and taking photographs has been fun. Keeping its perch near the ground, when threatened or frightened, it flies short and then perches again, so can always catch it up and take photographs again.
