Bueng Boraphet is one of the best places for birding and being there was just amazing in so many ways. There are plenty of birds there and especially wintering birds. The only draw back is, it is expensive to rent a motorized pontoon or a boat, it is five hundred baht per hour and in our case we had five hours, we just have had to be there. We did not regret the payment, our regret was, we did not decide to be there in January; we missed most of the migratory birds.
The Indian Cormorant is found in India, Thailand, and Cambodia; it is not as common as the Little Cormorant which you can see it everywhere in Thailand. I was not careful in watching this bird, I only realized that it was an India Cormorant after I was sorting the photographs after the trip. Also, they were way on top of the trees and the difficulty of having the light slightly against us was also a factor.
We would really want to go back and see more birds in Bueng Boraphet in the future. Another joy of birding accomplished.
