The Crested Finchbill is a songbird from the Bulbul family and I thought that it is a Finch, but in fact a Bulbul which can be found in Southeastern Asia, India, China, and as far as the Indochina. In Doi Lang, Chiang Mai, this species is thriving healthy and abundant.

The female Crested Finchbill was such a joy to watch as it came to join the male and started grooming it. I have seen other male birds waiting to be groomed just like this one and it was really fun to watch. The ritual started with both birds perched together on a bamboo and then the male waited for the female to be groomed, typical right, then male flew away for awhile and then comes back with food and then shares it together with the female. Joys of birding is not just about taking the best photographs and buying the most expensive gear but ts all about the birds.
