The Crested Finchbill is a songbird from the Bulbul family and I thought that it is a Finch, but in fact a Bulbul which can be found in Southeastern Asia, India, China, and as far as the Indochina. In Doi Lang, Chiang Mai, this species is thriving healthy and abundant.

I have seen the bird as other birders posted on social media platforms but when I found it in Doi Lang, I was just so excited. This bird perched on a small size bamboo, bent because of its weight. It was very cold and foggy, it was also drizzling; the bird was a surprise, as if a gift from God to behold in such a situation.

One of the joys of birding is the surprise of finding great and awesome birds.
