The Red-whiskered Bulbul is a passerine bird which is also found in Thailand. It is a Least Concern bird but it is also alarming in which it is being used for competitions for its beautiful songs, crest, and healthy feather projection.

There is so much of this bird as I have seen this at Khao Yai National Park, in Doi Ang Kang (Chiang Rai), it means that pretty much everywhere in Thailand on high elevations. This bird is a frugivore, meaning it could be a herbivore or an omnivore.

As a bird for competition, people carefully select them from the wild and keep them to be trained and fed healthy until it is ready to be taken to a meet. It is really fun watching this bird with that beautiful crest and the red whisker; but I am more interested and amused of the people who are keeping this bird, it is serious and expensive. In Thailand, a cage can be cheap and expensive according the owner’s status and the bird’s.
