The Black-headed Woodpecker is found in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand in which it is an attraction at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary and one can’t miss it as you approach km 7. They are just there flying from one tree to another, feeding, using their strong and powerful beaks to peck on barks and cracks of the tree to expose food.
There is no need to use a hide in taking photographs of this bird, they are so many, you just have to wait for them to come and stand still, they even come very near you. It is an exciting experience in which one can experience at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, one cannot forget.
