It is a small deer found in Pakistan through India, to Mainland Southeast Asia, which inhabit Indo-Gangetic Plains of Pakistan, north India, Nepal, Bangladesh, southwestern Yunnan Province in China, and all the way to western Thailand. The Indian Hog Deer was also introduced in Australia and Sri Langka.

The Indian Hog Deer is Endangered and it is also seriously protected at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary and to me who has been there for the first time, I was impressed and enjoyed every moment watching the herd.
