The Java Sparrow or Lonchura oryzivora, is also called as Java Finch, Java Rice Sparrow, and Java Rice Bird. Breeding in Java, Bali, Indonesia; migrating in Thailand, Philippines, and other Southeast Asia Country, it is considered to be a cage bird and a pest for consuming too much rice from the field and even in storage facilities.

I use to see a lot of this bird back in the Philippines and I thought during the migration season it could be anywhere, but I learned that appearances can be in selected places and not everywhere.

Because of housing, infrastructure, and industry, a lot of space has been taken for plants to grow for these birds to have as their habitat. It’s a unique lovely bird.
