The Ferruginous Partridge  or Caloperdix oculeus   ) is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand in which the habitat is perfect for it to thrive. It is near threatened so the population is small; though I have seen this partridge while walking in the thick of the jungle, to photograph is another story to tell, meaning, I have not taken a single shot of this skittish bird. habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest and subtropical pr tropical moist lowland forest such as Kaeng Krachan National Park.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature or IUCN, considers it to be Near Threatened and that is due to habitat loss and poaching. There is so much to learn about this partridge. We were so lucky to have seen it even though we have waited for the whole day, very quiet in the hide. It was impossible to make this bird come and when it came, it was so skittish and it was just running around and always finding away to cover itself.
