The Apo myna or Basilornis mirandus is a Starling which is also known as Mount Apo King Starling and Mount Apo Starling. Endemic to Mindanao in the south Philippines and its natural habitat is tropical moist montane forests above 1,250 m (4,100 ft). It is non-migratory.
To me it was the first time to have this bird and the chances of getting the perfect shot was a mission impossible since to get a proper shot would take several returns. I am so thankful to MiguelDavid De Leon supporting this trip and to Konrad Neil for guiding us and taking us to the foothills of Kitanglad in which the drive up was a real offroad experience.
