The Greater Crested Tern or Thalasseus bergii is also called crested tern or swift tern, is a tern in the family Laridae that nests in dense colonies on coastlines and islands in the tropical and subtropical countries in which Siargao rocky islands are the best since they are far away from humans and other predators.
Taking photographs of this bird was tricky since the normal 1/500 sec wont work with the boat moves erratically because of big waves and wind, the shutter speed must be faster or else we just have to find them roosting somewhere which is difficult to do. We have to wait for the low tide and approach the jagged island, well we loved playing with our cameras and capture them at sea.
MiguelDavid De Leon pioneered the preservation of the Pangitlogan Island for the Terns to safely nest and hatch their broods, raise them to make their flight back from where ever they came from.
