The Javan frogmouth or Batrachostomus javensis is also called the Horsfield’s frogmouth is a species of bird in the family Podargidae. Considered as conspecific with the Blyth’s and Palawan frogmouths. Found in Southeast Asia, Indonesia and the Philippines, it lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, in which Thailand has the perfect habitat as Kaeng Krachan National Park.

Finding this Frogmouth was delight to me since I had been missing the chance of photographing it being at another location twitching for a bird or being busy at work. I would have wanted to have the Frogmouth position differently but who can tell the bird what to do. There will be another chance of getting this with the babies being fed by the parent bird.
