The Mountain hawk-eagle or Nisaetus nipalensis is also called the Hodgson’s Hawk-eagle, is a bird of prey which is breeding in the Indian subcontinent, India, Nepal through Bangladesh to Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and Japan. I have mistaken this raptor for another and I am glad that I found the right identification to add into my collection.
Khao Yai National Park has a lot of surprises and one cannot know when will it show up. With a watchful eye, there is so much to discover; most of the wildlife viewing is contained within the paved roads and to get inside the jungle needs a special permission. Sometimes these animals just come out and reveal themselves to us, some special moments.
