The Dark-sided Flycatcher or Muscicapa sibirica is also known as the Siberian Flycatcher and Sooty Flycatcher; it is a small passerine  belonging in the Old World flycatcher from the family Muscicapidae. Well distributed in Asia with northern birds migrating south for the winter.

While waiting for the Sacred Kingfisher an additional Kingfisher to Thailand’s bird list; the wait was long and everything was frustrating. It was hot, dry, so uncomfortable, the thirst was kicking in all the time. We were relieved and entertained by this tiny Flycatcher. It came many times, taking away our intense focus on when the bird comes to the perch.
