The Blue-and-White Flycatcher or Cyanoptila cyanomelana is also called the Japanese Flycatcher; is a migratory songbird in the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. Breeding in Japan, Korea, and in parts of north eastern China and far eastern Russia and winters in South East Asia, in countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo.

This is a LIFER for me as I had been wanting this for a long time and the bird came to me instead without having to twitch somewhere else, quite a special day for me.

It showed up like I thought I was seeing a Large Niltava but I know it can’t be since the Large Niltava can be found in high elevation mountain forests; as I was seeing the back and the face, but when it turned, my heart pumped, I knew it was something else.
