I have been confused and misled by what are the differences of a Pipit and a Bush Lark until Desmond Allen pointed out the difference on a facebook post I did a couple of hours ago. It is quite deceiving if you really pay attention. Well, I should know better because I draw and paint birds and yet I have not seen that simple detail. The Bush Lark would have a slightly round slope of a beak while the Pipit would have a pointed beak and darker. Well of course there are more but that made me really think twice and now I know. The Pipits are fun to watch and they move very fast around and you will find them taking shelter under a grass, a bush, or any shade when its hot during the day. They are always busy finding food; I have observed them find their on food in between thick grass while a Drongo right above is just waiting to take away what they found, sending the Pipit running for dear life. Some funny and serious happenings in nature if one pays careful attention.
