The Crimson-winged Woodpecker (Picus puniceus) is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and finally Thailand in which the habitats are fantastic. Its natural habitats include the subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and where I found this the elevation is high, so tropical moist montane forests are included.
It was an early walk down the dirt road form Panoen Thung scenic viewpoint down to the entrance of the waterfall. It came out at about 7:00 o’ clock in the morning and it was cloudy and the situation where I got the shot was horrible and I can’t just do anything about it since it was a tree on the slope side of the mountain road, plus it was against the light. Well, I better luck next time, I was happy though that I found it and I just need to post it as joy of a found.
