Found in Myanmar, China, and Thailand; the Dark-backed Sibia’s habitat is subtropical or moist montane forest such as Doi Lang. This bird can be seen in Doi San Ju, Doi Ang Kang also, it is quite a resilient bird.
To make the right exposure is quite tricky for this bird since its back is dark and the belly is yellowish white; if you choose to make the dark side properly exposed then the white belly can turn to something and this can also require proper lighting if available. Anyways, I had the opportunity to take photographs of this bird with the morning light and under trees in a foggy morning, I just had to work hard to get it right. Birds in Chiang Mai are beautiful and especially during the winter time in which a lot of migratory birds come and stay for the season.
