We already had the Firethroat last February 12, 2017 but with its winter plumage, it had the dark Prussian blue on its feathers, the breast gray-white with some faint golden-brown . It was simple and beautiful already and yet we have had to see its breeding plumage; we had to travel far and it was tiresome only to be satisfied and cheered up by such a beautiful plumage. Being there at Nam Kham Nature Reserve while the bird was still there was a privilege and a huge responsibility. Here is the Firethroat with its beautiful breeding plumage display before it returns to its breeding location.

The Near Threatened Firethroat breeds in Sichuan, China and winters in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar, and also in Thailand especially at Nam Kham Nature Reserve in Chiang Rai. Its natural habitat is temperate forest but in Nam Kham Nature Reserve, reed bed.
